Receiving update texts from clients is often such a great feeling 🥰 This one is for sure!
Tessa is a young dog that had severe, clinically diagnosed separation anxiety. Poor little pup started out not even being able to handle her guardian standing on the other side of a baby gate (from the age of a young pup!) She had a few other challenges as well, which all together, was a bit daunting for her guardians, tbh. And I understood that, and said that we would work through it together. They were committed to helping her, and making all of their lives better. So we prioritized her behavior modification plan, and started working through it with her, together as a team. One of the most powerful reinforcers out there is the feeling of safety, of predictability. Piece by piece, in a way that the guardians nor Tessa were overwhelmed, they worked through our plan. Finally they reached 20 minutes of alone time without her showing any stress signs. Now they are at an hour. Slowly, carefully they have stepped forward, holding her paw each step of the way. I am blessed to have such incredible, committed clients and above all, Tessa is a lucky pup to have such commited guardians. Well done Team Tessa! 🥰♥️🐾 (I’m so thrilled for you all!) |
